TURN is an art project that confronts differences and commonalities arising from disability, generation, gender, nationality, living environment, and other factors, seeking to discover the unique individuality of each person. Artists interact with welfare facilities and communities, aiming to build a society of mutual recognition through various insights. A key feature of the project is encountering regional and social issues through diverse activities and engaging in shared contemplation.
* Building on TURN (concluded in FY2021), which began in 2015 as one of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s leading projects to spearhead the cultural program for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Tokyo University of the Arts will continue to promote TURN as a new phase of activity, inheriting the relationships and insights cultivated with facilities and organizations to date.
